The Cloister of the Monastery of Saint-Paul de Mausole where Van Gogh stayed.
The delightful market town of Saint Remy de Provence, inhabited since prehistory, named after Saint Remigius and a stones throw from the remains of Roman Glanum.
More recent inhabitants famously include troubled artist Vincent van Gogh, who was a patient at the Saint-Paul Asylum in Saint-Rémy from May 1889 to May 1890, where he painted some of his most memorable works.
