The magnificent 18th century Great Stables (Grand Ecuries) at Chantilly - Larger than many a stately home, they were built in 1719 for Louis-Henri de Bourbon, 7th Prince of Condé, who apparently believed he would be reincarnated as a horse.
The huge stables are alongside the famous racecourse (hippodrome) at Chantilly, and now house a 'Museum of the Horse'.
