The famous canals of Bruges, the capital of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. Sometimes referred to as the Venice of the North, Bruges was once one of the world's chief commercial cities thanks to the weaving of cloth and the wool trade. The historic city centre is a World Heritage Site of UNESCO.
