The south transept Rose window - The freshly conserved stained glass windows of Chartres Cathedral, celebrated for their deep colours, especially the cobalt blue, they are thought to be the best-preserved and most complete set of medieval stained glass in the world. The 12th century Cathedral (Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Chartres) is considered 'one of the worlds finest examples of Gothic architecture' due to surviving largely intact, including the original glass, for over 800 years - It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
